Opening Day This Sunday

Opening Day is upon us this Sunday! The league office wants to wish all teams good luck in 2008.

The results of the first-ever (highly non-scientific) WHSL.org website poll show a plurality of voters (48.1%) believe that this season's champion will be a team other than Larchmont (28.3%), B'nai B'rith (8.5%) and TBE-Chappaqua (15.1%). We'll see if one of the two 2007 finalists or a strong Chappaqua team is up to the challenge.

Some of you are wondering how to input the score of your completed games. Good question. Team managers should log in using the "Manager's Home" button, then click on the "Games--View" link at the top of the page. On the "View Games" page, click on the link to "Score" the game. Then enter the score and click "Submit." That's it!

To clear up any confusion with the new bat rule: The only bats that will be permitted by the WHSL are those on the "ASA 2004" certified list. The way to do a bat-check before the game starts is to compare the bats against the "ASA Non-Approved Bats (with photos)" list. For anyone looking to purchase a bat, I can offer a 25% discount at The Sports Authority starting this Thursday, April 10 until this Sunday, April 13. You can find the coupon by clicking on the "Links" button above.

Have a fun, safe and healthy season!
