The 2013 regular season is in the books. Our three-division format made for a fun and highly competitive schedule, generating a ton of positive responses from players and managers alike.

As voted at February's Winter Meeting, the 16-team playoff bracket will be set up as follows, with the tournament starting on September 8:

Division 1 -1st place - Westchester Jewish Center
Division 1 -2nd place - B'nai B'rith
Division 1 -3rd place - Temple Israel New Rochelle
Division 1 -4th place - Greenburgh Hebrew Center
Division 1 -5th place - Larchmont
Division 1 -6th place - Woodlands
Division 2 -1st place - Temple Beth El - Chappaqua
Division 3 -1st place - Shaarei Tikvah
Division 2 -2nd place - First Hebrew
Division 2 -3rd place - Harrison
Division 2 -4th place - Congregation Sons of Israel
Division 2 -5th place - Temple Beth El - New Rochelle
Division 2 -6th place - Scarsdale
Division 3 -2nd place - JCC Pleasantville
Division 3 -3rd place Temple Beth Abraham
Division 3 -4th place - Bet Torah / Temple Israel Center White Plains

Bet Torah and TIC-WP both finished the season at 5-10, and they split their season series. Both teams were rained out on May 12. The rainout rule (at least 6 games were washed away) does not require the teams to make up those games. Rather than both teams trying to make up games against their May 12 opponents, Bet Torah and TIC-WP have agreed to schedule a play-in game between now and September 1. Bet Torah, by virtue of holding the second tiebreaker (runs against) will be the home team.

I'll post the tournament bracket as soon as that game is decided. Please keep in mind that the tournament will be single-elimination in the first two rounds, and double elimination for the final 4 teams. The double-elimination rounds will be played with a doubleheader of two 9-inning games followed by an "if-necessary" game the following week.

Enjoy your Labor Day break and the last weeks of summer.
