That is the pitching and defense team I'm used to seeing. Today's game was just 2-0 for most of the way, thanks to, well, pretty much everybody on the field.
Ben turned a line drive into a double play (and almost made a beautiful spinning throw on another ball), Daniel R. covered a ton of ground at second, Danny H. had some sweet stretches and scoops at first. Mike, playing catcher, made a nice grab on a foul pop-up. But the play of the day might have been Daniel F. sprinting to catch a long fly ball in deep deep right field.
Harrison also played terrific defense, turning three double plays of their own. But our bats finally broke out in the 9th inning. Following an intentional (!) walk to Danny H., loading the bases with one out, Joel laced a line drive single to give us some insurance. Then we scored another 9 runs after that, 4 of those with two outs.
I hope everybody can be there next week for the regular season finale against WJC.
